Hi, I'm Jeane, (left) and I own All Things Maternity. Let me tell you a quick story about how this business came about. If you are interested, that is. If not, and all you care about is getting in here and buying some great stuff at great prices, then what the heck, skip this part and come on down and I'll tell you in person.
This business was literally a light bulb clicking on. My daughter, Jessica, (see above), my daughter-in-law, my sister-in-law, and two other individuals (family friends), were all pregnant within a couple months of each other. One girl was plus size, one very tall, one very short, one tiny, etc. Also, two were homemakers and three were professional people. Needless to say, not one of these girls could wear the same clothes! After numerous trips all over town trying to find clothing that "worked", and finding very little, Jessica and her best friend came home very disgruntled. Jessica, in her frustration, said to me, "You know what this town needs, Mom, is a resale maternity clothing store! Where can we find one of those?" And just like that...."ta-da", All Things Maternity was born. It took us (my mother, me, daughter and daughter-in-law) a loan, 6 months of serious clothing searching and shopping, finding a space, and lots of paint and hard work, but we succeeded and here we are....(now) 3 years later, with a very nice business and lots of new friends (customers who quickly become repeat customers and our best advertisers). In fact, most bring the new baby back for a visit!
September 25, 2008: Just updating the site to bring you up to speed on how things have changed and grown in the past 3 years since we opened this website. I'm happy to annouce that, since the word got out, we are busier than ever! I have expanded until we are busting at the seams! Our inventory is more than tripled in size, and all of our items are less than 3 years old. We now have (and usually maintain an average of) over 3000 pieces. Along with all that maternity wear, we also carry some nursing wear, bras, nursing coverups, several styles of slings, wraps, baby-carry bags, and other baby-wearing items.
NEW UPDATE, DEC. 4, 2009: The daughter who inspired this business is due in January with Baby No. 2! She has thoroughly enjoyed Mom owning a maternity wear store. She actually got to take advantage of it from the beginning this time.
We are located in Broken Arrow, on Main Street, one block east of Elm, between 81st & 91st, in the Maple Leaf Shopping Center. We are directly across the street from the Broken Arrow Community Center. And Tastee Treat is still next door!! =)
